COVID-19 INFO

######Important Announcements (Mar 24, 2020)######

Announcement from LOC:

Dear XRM 2020 conference participants,

The COVID-19 epidemic has spread widely and rapidly worldwide despite significant global efforts attempting to put it down. We, the local organizers of XRM 2020, have decided to cancel the XRM 2020 conference originally scheduled to be held 19-24 July 2020 in Taipei, Taiwan after consulting with the International Advisory Committee (IAC) recently.  A discussion with the IAC and the organizer of the next XRM conference also concluded that the conference series is rescheduled as the following; XRM 2022 in Taipei, Taiwan, and XRM 2024 in Lund, Sweden.

The outbreak of COVID-19 is an unfortunate and unexpected scenario, but the health, safety, and well-being of conference participants are always our top priority. We thank you all for your supports in the past months and ask for your understandings that this could be the best decision for everyone.  The cancellation of the conference means that no proceedings will be published; we will thus delete the electronic records of all paper/abstract submissions, including the License Agreement submitted along with every manuscript.  For those who have paid their registration fee, the fee will be returned to you.

XRM conference provides a great opportunity for the global X-ray Microscopy community to learn/inspire from colleagues and to strengthen the academia-industry interactions.  We appreciate your supports and hope to meet again in XRM 2022.

Sincerely,
Gwo-Huei Luo, Chair, XRM 2020
Chun-Jun Chen, Co-Chair, XRM 2020
Der-Hsin Wei, Co-Chair, XRM 2020

Message from the Chair of IAC

" As you would expect XRM2020 is already totally arranged with abstract submissions, secured plenary and invited speakers, evidence of hard work of the Conference Chair and Local Organising Committee. However, the current international travel bans and social distancing protocols, aiming to protect the safety and well-being of our society, and the uncertainty as to when this period of crisis will be over, make it impossible to move forward with XRM2020. The Local Organising Scientific Advisory and Committees of the XRM conference series believe that in this situation postponing XRM2020 is the best option to ensure a successful event for all the attendees, speakers and sponsors.

We have now to look to the future, XRM-2020 will therefore ‘reborn’ as XRM-2022 in Taiwan; the Local Organising Committee is working to identify the potential dates and locations. We are confident that after defeating the current crisis, a renewed esteem for human connectivity and for face-to-face meetings will guarantee an exciting and thriving XRM2022.

I look forward to the moment when everyone who wants to participate at the forthcoming XRM conference can do so safely and confidently.

Andrea Somogyi, Chair of the International Advisory Committee”
